Raids in Slop Tower Defense
Raid Merchant sinks, Raid Crystals, Raid Crates, and how to prep a team without bricking Normal progression.
Raids in Slop Tower Defense add a group-oriented loop on top of permanent maps and Space playlists. This guide covers Raid Merchant, Raid Crystals, Raid Crates, and the roster habits that keep raids from eating your Cash economy. Pair it with Maps, Best Units, and Currencies.
Raids remain live as of the September 12–20 2026 update window summarized on Updates. Older promo strings literally named RAIDS are expired marketing codes — see Expired Codes — and do not replace the live merchant or crate systems.
Who should open raids
Raid content assumes you already:
- Clear Brainrot Bases Base Normal without panic (Getting Started)
- Understand placement and upgrades (How to Play, Controls)
- Own a flexible attacker core rather than a single farm stack
- Know what Cash, Gems, Stars, and Raid Crystals each buy (Currencies)
If you are still chasing the 10-win Codes unlock, finish that first on the Codes Hub. Raids are a poor substitute for Basic Summon breadth.
Raid Crystals
Raid Crystals are the specialist wallet for raid sinks. Treat them like Stars: valuable inside their shop, misleading if you try to mentally convert them 1:1 into Cash. Earn them through raid play, then spend them deliberately at the Raid Merchant instead of impulse-buying every crate the moment the UI flashes.
Practical Crystal habits:
- Track how many crystals a typical raid clear returns on your account before planning a crate binge
- Keep a reserve for merchant rotations you actually need
- Do not trade away combat-critical units just to “afford” a crystal flex — read How to Trade
Raid Merchant
The Raid Merchant is the primary sink for Raid Crystals and related raid rewards. Creator guides (including merchant-focused uploads) highlight rotating stock such as crates, materials, or limited pieces. Because merchant tables can shift after patches, confirm prices in-client after every Updates skim.
Merchant priorities for most accounts:
- Materials that unlock craft goals on Crafting
- Crates that target gaps in your roster rather than duplicates of mid units
- Convenience items only after core DPS coverage exists
Skip vanity purchases while your Hard clears still leak.
Raid Crates
Raid Crates are the gambling-adjacent payoff loop — similar in spirit to Space crates but tied to the raid economy. Expectations should stay humble:
- Crates can accelerate exclusives; they are not a guaranteed S-tier printer
- Compare crate EV against simply summoning with Cash/Gems via Summons and Crafting
- After openings, re-rank keepers on Best Units before trading duplicates
If Space crates are cheaper relative to your Star income this week, you may be better on Space Event or AFK Farm Star pads than forcing raid crates underleveled.
Team play notes
Raids reward coordination more than solo ego:
- Agree on who brings splash versus single-target before the match starts
- Do not all place farm units first — the early-game Freddy Trashcan trap still wipes groups
- Communicate skip-wave timing so someone is always covering the red path pressure (Controls)
- If a teammate is brand new, park them on support placements while veterans hold chokepoints from Maps knowledge
- After wipes, adjust composition instead of flaming — roster gaps are usually the real issue
Public lobbies vary wildly. Trusted friends or community groups usually outperform random queues for crystal efficiency.
Raid prep checklist
- Claim Playtime Rewards / Quests and any fresh codes.
- Repair your Cash buffer with a couple Normal clears if you are broke.
- Confirm Raid Crystal count and merchant stock.
- Bring at least three attackers plus a splash plan.
- Decide crate versus material spend before the clear so you do not panic-buy.
- After the session, bank rewards and only then open How to Trade if duplicates appeared.
How raids sit next to other systems
| Goal | Better loop |
|---|---|
| Codes unlock / early Cash | Active Normal clears |
| Stars / Space crates | Space Event + AFK Star pads |
| Raid Crystals / merchant | Raids |
| Broad roster odds | Basic / Premium summons |
| Targeted upgrades | Crafting |
Use raids when crystals or raid-gated stock are the bottleneck — not because a Discord screenshot said “raids are meta” without context.
Safety
Ignore raid auto-clear executors and paid “crystal generators.” Scripts covers why we list no verified public injectors as of September 2026. Real progress comes from placement, summons, and merchant discipline.

Raids are a specialist playlist. Bring a real attacker core, spend crystals on purpose, and let crates amplify a plan — not replace one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Slop Tower Defense players.
What are Raid Crystals for?
Raid Crystals feed the Raid Merchant and related raid sinks. Treat them as a specialist wallet, not as Cash.
Should beginners queue raids immediately?
No. Stabilize Base Normal, unlock codes, and build three-plus attackers before investing heavily in raid loops.
Are Raid Crates guaranteed S-tier units?
No. Crates can help but are not a guaranteed printer. Compare them with summons and crafting priorities.
Is the RAIDS code still active?
The old RAIDS promo string is treated as expired. Use the live Raid Merchant and crate systems instead.
Do I need a team for raids?
Coordination helps crystal efficiency. Trusted groups usually outperform random lobbies when roles are planned.
